Abstract
Title of the study: The effectiveness of using classical conditional methods of Thorndike in
developing the adaptive behavior of the chldren with Autism children , at Holly Makah .
Aims of the study : The study is aiming at achieving the following :
1- To design training program depending on the classical conditional methods of Thorndike in
developing the adaptive behavior of the autism children .
2- Identifying the effectiveness and influence of the suggested training program on developing the
adaptive behavior of the autism children .
The study methodology : The study depends on the experimental method
The sample of the study : The study consists of 8 male students . Their ages are between 8 to 12
and their intelligence degree between 50 to 65 degree on Goddaed scale .
The study tools : scale of adaptive behavior prepared by ALshakhs ( 1998 ) . The list of autistic
behavior assessment which was prepared by Abdul-Raheen ( 1999 ) . Godard scale ( D-T ) . The
training program that was prepared by the researcher .
Results of the study :
1- There are statistical differences among the averages of the grade levels of the experimental
sample before and after measurement , in developing the adaptive behavior in the sake of after
measurement .
2- There are not differences among the averages of grade levels of autism children among the
experimental and fixed group in the level of language development on the scale of adaptive
behavior after application of the program .
3- There are statistical differences among the averages of grade levels of autism children among
the experimental and fixed group in the level of the growth of independence functional
performance on the scale of adaptive behavior , in the sake of the experimental group in the
dimensional scale .
4- There are statistical differences in the averages of grade levels of autism children among the
experimental and fixed group in the level of the function of family role on the scale of adaptive
behavior on the sake of the experimental group in the dimensional scale .
5- There are statistical differences in the averages of grade levels of autism children among the
experimental and fixed group in the level of professional & economical activity on the scale of the
adaptive behavior on the sake of the experimental group , on the dimensional scale
6- There are not differences in the averages of grade levels of autism children among the
experimental and fixed group in the level of the social role on the scale of the adaptive behavior ,
after application of the program .
7- There are statistical differences in the averages of grade levels of autism children among the
experimental and fixed group on the scale of adaptive behavior , for the sake of experimental
group .
Some of the recommendations :
1- Application of the program of adaptive behavior development , where it was proved through
the results of the study the effectiveness of this program in developing the adaptive behavior
which lead to better education for them .
2- Every two autism children should have special teacher , or for every four children one teacher
with another assistant
