The results of the study showed that there ware significant statistical differences in the means of depression and dysfunctional attitudes in the pre –and post means between the experimental and control groups (in favour of the pre measure), and between the experimental and control groups in post measure (in favour of control group),and there are no significant statistical differences in the effectiveness of the cognitive therapy programme for the treatment of depressive episodes in accordance with Sex, age group, educational level, occupation, number of previous depressive episodes, length of symptoms before treatment, and the presesnce of other psychiatric disorders.
